TANI GUPTA
Satine

This experimental photo series resurrects the myth and memory of the Moulin Rouge while dismantling its performative archetypes. Through long-exposure photography and projected archival scenes, the model becomes a vessel for both illusion and truth, her form dissolving and re-emerging in a blur of motion and light.

The series captures a choreography of echoes, tracing gestures of past dancers while layering silhouettes to evoke cabaret opulence and reveal the constructed femininity behind it. Satine is not a character but a spirit fractured across time, her identity stitched together by fantasy, stereotype, and longing.
